Departure from Marrakech in the morning via the Tizi n’Tichka pass towards Ouarzazate, a former garrison town. Ascent of the Tizi n’Tichka pass which culminates at 2260m and its Berber villages merging into the hills, one of the most beautiful roads in Morocco. Stops for the many viewpoints over the valleys and at the top of the pass. Detour to Telouet for a visit of the kasbah then old track of the Ounila valley to Tamdakht. Stop for lunch and visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ouarzazate. Stop for a visit of the kasbah of Taourirt, former residence of Pasha el Glaoui. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.
Departure at 08h00 direction Zagora by the pass of Tizi n’Tiniffift and its semi lunar landscapes. A few kilometers before Agdz, detour by a track of about ten kilometers to the waterfalls of Tizgui before turning back and continuing to Agdz, and following Aslim / Rabat, the tracks along the wadi Draa, the Berber village of Taliouine at the foot of Mount Kissan. Continue towards Afra, Tamdakht by the tracks of the Draa valley along the wadi of the same name to Timsla to recover the national road. Arrival in Zagora. Camel ride. Dinner and overnight at the bivouac of Nekhla or in a kasbah.
Early departure from Zagora direction Tamgroute, known for its Koranic library and its underground city of potters, specialized in green earthenware. Continuation by the tracks when possible and especially near M’Hamid, the last town once a stopover for caravanners and today, the end of the tarmac road before diving into the Sahara. Tracks direction the sacred oasis for a stopover. After about fifty km of track, arrival at Chegagga, the sea of sand. Dinner and overnight in bivouac.
After sunrise, departure by Lake Iriqui to Foum Zguid, a vast oasis surrounded by pre-desert landscapes with sandy soil and arid vegetation. From time to time we will see nomads and camel caravans. Continue towards Tazenakht before branching off to Agdz by a semi-mountain road and crossing the Tizi n’Bouchkoum pass, a very beautiful road. Arrival a little before Agdz, in Tamnougalte. for a visit of its famous kasbah dating from the 16th century and a short walk in the palm grove of Mezguita if the weather permits. Dinner and night in Agdz.
After breakfast, return by the Tizi Tinifift pass with lunar landscapes, direction Ouarzazate then Oasis Fint, beautiful green setting in the middle of a no man’s land, 10km of track. Stroll on the edge of the wadi. Then departure to Marrakech by the Kasbah of Tifoultout that we see overlooking the wadi Fint and finally the Tizi n’Tichka. Return to Marrakech at the end of the day.
