Tour Details

This original tour includes a complete visit of the great south with an extension in the capital of the Souss: Taroudant also called the small Marrakech.

Wonders of the pre-Saharan south and the Anti Atlas, less frequented by tourism, a different approach to a contrasting Morocco were oases, gorges, mountains, desert and its beautiful orange sand where it is good to let go.

Itinerary

Day 1Marrakech - Aït Benhaddou - Ouarzazate

Departure from Marrakech in the morning by the Tizi n’Tichka pass, a very beautiful road with multiple valleys and villages suspended on the hillsides. Many stops including one at the top of the pass at over 2200m. Detour for a visit of the Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou classified as a UNESCO world heritage site. Continuation to Ouarzazate, visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, also former residence of Pasha El Glaoui. Meal and night in Ouarzazate.

Day 2Ouarzazate - Dades Gorges - Todghra Gorges

Departure for the Valley of Roses and Thousand Kasbahs, Kelâa M’ Gouna, capital of the Rose to the Dades Gorge and its famous monkey fingers. Walk in the gorges and return to Boumalne Dades direction Tinghir by the pre-dessert plateaus. Dinner and night in the Todghra gorges after crossing part of the palm grove.

Day 3Todghra Gorges - Tafilalet - Merzouga

Stroll in the Todghra gorges and incursion in the palm grove before departure towards Erfoud, the Tafilalet valley and the pre-Saharan oases to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) Camel ride (about 2h) and sunset before dinner and night under the tent (or night in a kasbah and short camel ride).

Day 4Merzouga - N'Kob - Tamnougalt

Sunrise and return to the hostel. Breakfast and shower possible. Then departure to the pre-desert regions characterized by its acacia forests direction Risani via Tazarine then N’Kob until the junction of the Draa valley in Tansikht. Direction Tamnougalt (Near Agdz), magnificent Kasbah in the middle of a palm grove. Visit the Kasbah and walk on the site. Meal and night on site.

Day 5Tamnougalt - Tamgroute - Tinfou - Tamnougalt

Departure towards the Valley of Draa at the edge of the Wadi of the same name, very luxuriant valley swarming with kasbah and adobe villages towards Zagora, the gateway to the Sahara. Continuation to Tamgroute, visit the underground city and the Koranic library. Return to Agdz, visit the old Kasbah, and crossing of the village. Walk to the palm grove of Mezguita, then back to Tamnougalt. Meal and night on the spot.

Day 6 Tamnougalt - Tazenakht - Taliouine - Taroudant

Departure for an incursion in the anti-atlas to Tanenakht, a city famous for the manufacture of Berber carpets and women’s cooperatives. Continuation to Taliouine, known for the production of an excellent quality Safran (1st city in Morocco). Visit the Safran cooperative and if the weather permits, a glimpse of the vast expanses of Crocus. Continuation to Taroudant, the small town of Marrakech. Free visit of the medina and tour of the ramparts. Dinner and night.

Day 7Taroudant - Aoulouz - Tizi n'test - Marrakech

Return to Marrakech via the Tizi Test pass, one of the most impressive and beautiful roads in Morocco. Stop at the pass at 2100 m then visit the Tinmal mosque contemporary Koutoubia and departure of the Almohade movement in the 12th century. Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon with many stops en route.
